The Shenzhen International Communication Center, located in the Xiangmihu area of Futian District, is a major municipal project under the city's "Dual-Area" (The Greater Bay Area and A Pilot Demonstration Area of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics) development strategy. It serves as a core facility for hosting world leaders’ summits, international conferences, large-scale government and business events.
Designed by YANG, the project is themed "The Roc City's Overlapping Rhythms, Graciously Welcoming The World", inspired by Shenzhen's unique characteristics of "mountains and seas connecting the city". Through comprehensive planning, it introduces smart technology and low-carbon systems, aiming to create a global urban model of harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature, and establish a new landmark in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area with a global perspective and Shenzhen's unique features.
The central axis follows the concept of "Rhythms of Overlapping Mountains," emphasizing a symmetrical layout and Chinese grandeur, evoking the majestic and sublime aura of mountain ranges. Spaces such as the West Entrance Hall, Ceremonial Entrance Hall, and high-end conference halls integrate landscape gardens, Lingnan architecture, and digital technology, embodying etiquette and hospitality with an oriental flair.
The two wings extend with the "Rhythms of Overlapping Seas," incorporating fluid structures that echo Lingnan's mercantile culture and showcase Shenzhen's inclusive, open-minded, and relentless pioneering spirit. Venues such as the Grand Meeting Room, Main Arena and Ballroom draw inspiration from elements like the matrix structure of source code, tumultuous waves, and the city's dazzling lights, presenting Shenzhen's vibrant cityscape driven by intelligence and vitality.
