The homeowner, a woman who lives alone, dreams of a welcoming living space that radiates warmth and light. She desires a well-functional cooking environment that will allow her to explore her culinary skills with ease. She also yearns for a cozy atmosphere that will be perfect for sipping her favorite drink while enjoying her leisure time alone, with a mindful attitude towards life. Despite the challenges posed by the limited space of only 43 square meters, the designers have created a living experience that is spacious, comfortable, and multi-functional. They have achieved this by adopting a half-wall partition design that allows natural light to flow freely and creates a sense of openness. Additionally, they have configured storage spaces in odd areas and the staircase mezzanine level, thus increasing spatial efficiency and providing flexible possibilities in the one-bedroom, one-living room layout. The end result is a small yet charming home that meets the needs and desires of its sole occupant.
To fulfill the owner's love for American classic style, the designer carefully selected a light white color for the base. The designer then added classical tiles and intricately carved screens to the space, which further elevated the style elements. The slanted wood truss roof design was then incorporated, which not only emphasizes the classic style but also creates an intimate and cozy atmosphere. This design element also cleverly conceals the air-conditioning, messy piping, and heavy beams, making the space appear more polished and refined. Additionally, the slanted wood truss roof design adds a sense of height to the room, making it both visually pleasing and practically functional. Overall, the space exudes a warm and inviting ambiance, perfect for relaxing and unwinding after a long day.
