Integrating real-life elements into the space to create a vibrant and playful living environment is our design ethos. Situated within a 60-year-old house in the cultural and educational district of Taipei, this 42-square-meter space boasts high-ceiling mezzanines, adding a distinctive character. Leveraging the architectural features, we aim to transform these mezzanines into pathways for showcasing and performing within the living space.
Maximizing the permeability and expansiveness of the space through glass partitions and mirror reflections is pivotal. This not only enhances the openness of the area but also allows for better penetration of natural light, fostering a bright and airy ambiance. Furthermore, a palette of light tones is chosen to elevate the spatial texture and height perception, promoting a sense of comfort and relaxation.
Displaying items such as guitars and figurines within the space is a key element of the design. These items not only add interest and personality to the space but also highlight the diverse lifestyle of the occupants. Through these displays, we aim to present the diversity and richness of life, allowing residents to find their own life realities within.
Overall, the design endeavors to create a lively and engaging living space by fully utilizing the spatial structure, fostering an open and transparent atmosphere, and showcasing a variety of life elements. This space is not just a place to live but also a true reflection and showcase of the residents' lives.
