Layering is a silent narration, where sophistication emerges from the ordinary and abundance unfolds within simplicity. In this duplex-style interior, the designer’s approach stems from a deep understanding of the inhabitants' lifestyle and personality, exploring materials, proportions, colors, functions, and flow. This is transformed into a unique "Code of Layering," integrating with the space and fostering interaction with its users.
Leveraging the pre-sale property's customization options, the design reflects the layered structure, addressing both aesthetic and functional details. Each element acts as a "code," revealing the inhabitants' identity and adding personal significance to the space.
Where light and shadow converge, layering creates a poetic interplay between brightness and darkness. This project marks the second commission from the homeowners for their 298-square-meter home. Inspired by the loft-style structure, the design fosters harmony between interior and exterior, with three bedrooms, two living areas, and three bathrooms, focusing on openness and transparency.
The living, dining, kitchen, and island countertop align in an open-plan layout. The living room features a stone wall for texture and aesthetic appeal. Pendant lighting visually elevates the dining area, while an open staircase with cut-out elements allows light to flow freely, complementing the space’s proportions. Clear glass panels add transparency, subtly blurring boundaries.
On the second floor, a snug with a high bar counter and stools offers a mini-lounge for relaxation or entertaining. Thoughtful design infuses the space with depth, encouraging residents to appreciate life's nuances and strengthening family connections.
