This project entails the design of a mixed-use commercial space that ingeniously melds a pet merchandise store with a sophisticated cat hotel. Drawing inspiration from the charm of a Japanese variety store, the design incorporates wooden elements to infuse the space with a cozy and inviting ambiance.
The first floor boasts a meticulously crafted reception area reminiscent of a welcoming living room, offering an immersive experience for customers who are unable to keep cats in their own living spaces. This allows them to interact with the store's feline residents in a homely setting. Meanwhile, the second floor is dedicated to the cat hotel, featuring a high-specification design akin to a top-notch Taiwan’s postpartum care center (confinement centers). The space is equipped with state-of-the-art monitoring technology, providing pet owners with the ability to remotely check on the well-being of their beloved furry companions at any given time, thereby instilling them with peace of mind.
The ground floor window is thoughtfully designed with a see-through lattice sliding door, not only providing the resident cats with a sense of security but also catching the eye of passersby. This design fosters increased interaction between customers and our feline friends. Stepping inside, you'll find copper plates adorned with cute cat paw prints embedded in the floor, adding an element of whimsy and delight to every nook and cranny of the space. The ground floor predominately features raised floors, bars, and strategically placed cat scratching posts, effectively demarcating functional zones. The innovative structural design of the cat scratching posts creates a three-dimensional activity space for the cats. Additionally, in the reception area, wooden hole panels are artfully installed on the side walls, serving a dual purpose: showcasing store products and providing an assortment of unique cat trees for our furry inhabitants.
