This project creates a refreshed space for a family of four entering a new life stage. The designers captured the owner's desire for a pure, tranquil environment, using a simple gray and white palette to establish a serene and comfortable atmosphere. Through a harmonious blend of ceiling fixtures and movable lighting, light flows naturally throughout the space. The project was named "Lustre of Camp," reflecting the interplay of light and shadow within the space and carrying the warm meaning of a "radiant home."
The original beam between the living and dining areas divided the social area, making it look fragmented. To address this, the designers used layered, curved lines to unify the space. With well-calculated height variations, they eliminated the oppressive feeling of the beam, creating a flowing visual effect that draws the eye to the dining island, enhancing the sense of continuity. To ensure the perfect execution of the curved lines, the design team employed CNC laser cutting. This seamless, single-piece design avoids the joint issues common in traditional methods and maintains smooth, uninterrupted lines.
Considering the owner’s warm, hospitable nature, the design team made the open kitchen the focal point, creating a cozy space for gatherings. An extendable tabletop connects the island to the dining table, unifying the dining area. This design not only adds flexibility to space usage but also serves as a symbolic “bridge of friendship,” bringing people closer together.
