This architecture is a rural elementary school in the middle of a farm field. Given the condition of the old building and the school’s financial difficulties, the designer, an alumnus of the school, has decided to make his voluntary contribution to the campus with kindness, generosity, and gratitude. And this is how this school building renovation project all beings. With limited resources and building materials, the designer has cleverly beautified the classrooms and exterior of the building. Surprisingly, the building has been revitalized and received a successful makeover. The campus is located at the confluence of two rivers in central Taiwan. By combining the historical spirit of the two rivers with the traditional bamboo raft, the designer not only brings cultural value to the school but also promotes the vitality and fondness of the local culture. On the other hand. the exterior of the culturally rich wave-shaped building highlights the educational development of the school program: the ferrying culture and the outdoor experience of building a bamboo bridge across the stream. Children from other counties and cities will be attracted to attend this school through this educational program. Most importantly, the children from the local community will be taken care of, thus enabling the school and the district to develop and thrive. Gazing from the top, one will be amazed by the scene where the campus stands in the middle of a field, surrounded by greenery and water, full of tranquility and idleness. The original white brick walls and red tin roofs give viewers a feeling of detachment and standardization. Therefore, the designer cleverly utilizes a grille of aqua blue and white to enliven the impression of space through the curving lines. When visitors enter the school, they will be greeted by the light of the building, symbolizing the light that enlightens the children's education.
