This 30-year-old residence is located in a quiet residential area in Hong Kong for a family of three who wants to create more memorable moments in their new chapter of life, with the idea of staycation which homeowners had some good memories in hotels, the design team decided to remodel and modernize it into a contemporary yet cozy home.
In this project, different shades of grey and marble with unique patterns have been set as the primary spatial focus throughout the house. Upon stepping into the living and dining room, it gives a luxurious feel and atmosphere while the wooden TV panel and indirect lighting from arc-shaped ceiling strikes a balance between luxury and warmth; also, round dining table and a ball pendant light in the dining room used to match the ceiling. The sliding glass door creates a clear distinction between living and dining room and bedrooms and it can reduce the sound when the kid is sleeping; the transparent material makes the space look more spacious in the meantime serves its purpose of practicality and aestheticism. Besides, designers used large floor-to-ceiling windows to seamlessly bring the outdoors inside and sufficient natural light into the house that create a bright and energetic space for the family. In the master bedroom, designers have chosen a colorful patterned wallpaper to add visual interest in the contemporary design, it also has the meaning of life is full of happy memories and enjoy every little thing to make it beautiful.
