"A kitten is the delight of a household." – Champfleury, French writer
This project marks the second commission from returning clients, who enlisted the team to design their 358-square-meter home. Since the first commission, the household has seen children grow and added a feline fur-baby 66. Along with creating a comfortable living space, the design prioritizes the pet’s safety, easy maintenance, and a playful touch.
Starting from a bare shell, the design evolved to integrate essential functions with emotional resonance, accommodating this family of four and their pet. It balances vertical and horizontal extensions, with a blend of solid and void that creates elegance and harmony, bridging nature and man-made elements while maximizing comfort.
The entrance features dark stone cladding and softer tones opposite, creating a powerful contrast that defines the threshold between the exterior world and the peaceful interior. This leads to the living area, where wooden warmth and natural stone textures evoke a relaxed, tasteful lifestyle. The open-plan kitchen, dining, and living areas flow seamlessly, with a central island as the focal point. The layout fosters smooth movement, ideal for hosting. Neutral tones and natural wood dominate, with minimal decoration to highlight unadorned beauty and create a serene atmosphere.
The design thoughtfully addresses the couple’s future needs and their evolving family, including the pet. The 5-bedroom, 2-living room, 3-bathroom layout is human-centric, with natural light, carefully selected materials, and a harmonious color palette. This adaptive space nurtures family and pet life, offering a creative and comfortable environment for connection and well-being.
