*Core Concept & Inspiration
Located in a historically rich area, this project draws inspiration from the surrounding red brick buildings, gabled roofs, and earthy tones. The interior adopts a reddish-brown palette with low-saturation hues, incorporating the "Wabi-Sabi" aesthetic to create a harmonious and tranquil ambiance.
Originally a combined manga and board game store, this 50-year-old building underwent a transformation, overcoming structural limitations by redefining the layout. Rectangular spaces were allocated for public areas, while corner windows became the primary light source for the bedroom.

*Design Features & Advantages
1. Optimized Circulation & Space Allocation:Entry points were reconfigured to separate public and private areas. A dual-entry foyer with hidden storage behind the door provides a functional shoe room. Soft light filters through decorative glass, adding both functionality and aesthetic appeal.

2. Material & Detail Design:A combination of special coatings, dark wood veneer, tiles, and glass creates a rich visual texture. The curved TV wall extends into the master bedroom frame, enhancing spatial flow. The open-concept study is defined by a U-shaped half-wall and a dark wood bookshelf, maintaining separation while ensuring interaction with the living room.

3. Ceiling Height & Structural Adjustments:With a floor height of only 275 cm and beams as low as 240 cm, the design team used lighting and layering techniques to minimize the beams’ visual impact, while ceiling elements guide the gaze to create a more spacious feel.

4. Innovation & Sustainability:Eco-friendly materials, such as low-formaldehyde wood veneer and recyclable materials, were used to reduce environmental impact. Large windows maximize natural lighting, reducing artificial lighting needs and improving energy efficiency.

5. Challenges & Solutions:Excessive pipe distance for the new bathroom: Reconfigured using the staircase area based on the upper-floor layout.
