Through the technique of axis displacement, we unlock a sense of expansiveness, seamlessly merging hallways to invite farthest vistas to penetrate the interior. This approach effectively addresses issues of a 40-year-old house’s original, impenetrable layout and its overly angular complexities, while also maximizing the infusion of natural light.

In the public domain, both horizontal and vertical axes draw inspiration from the architectural tripartite-entry design. Starting from entrance, the horizontal axis leads through living room, past pendant lights and through arched doorways to the balcony. The vertical axis weaves through storage room, living room, and dining-kitchen area, extending to the private quarters, thus creating a depth of field that enriches the living experience.

The ceiling, a symphony of layers, curves, and materials, not only addresses the chaotic fire protection piping of the old house and diminishes the presence of large beams and the energy recovery ventilation but also serves as a means to delineate each space. Its design, reminiscent of clouds drifting and water flowing, features varied heights and curved transitions.

Interweaving through public domain, discreet and unassuming cat trees complement the ceiling's layered approach. Providing a subtle presence yet offer cats ample freedom to roam in communal areas. At the junction between living room and balcony, a charming entrance is intentionally crafted, inspired by image of a cat stretching lazily.

Beginning at entrance, we crafted a screen from rotating metal pieces that play with the concept of solidity and void, creating a visually engaging first impression. Adjacent to this artistic partition lies a play area, ensuring the first moments upon returning home are greeted with a heartfelt smile. The pendant lights between living room and balcony were designed to fulfill a dual purpose of fitness and illumination, adding layers of expression and mood to home.
