The designer has crafted for the homeowner a minimalistic and harmonious dwelling with nature, aiming to offer a space where one can savor the leisurely moments of living, optimize the relationship between inside and outside, beckon individuals into nature, reconnecting them with the experiences of the body and emotions, and feeling the authentic force of life.
With a soaring 6m ceiling and floor-to-ceiling glass, the indoors seamlessly merge with the outdoors, linking the roof with the sky and the ground with the courtyard. The pendant lights overhead resemble sculptures within the space, exuding a light and graceful aura. Extensive white spaces are complemented by a steel-paneled fireplace below, crafted in a unique design as if a thin crack has been delicately cut into the wall, reminiscent of Proust's notion that the fireplace is a warm place where boundaries continuously float.
The furniture selection harmoniously blends sensibility with rationality, straight lines with curves. Beige and light grey fabrics symbolize a pursuit of returning to simplicity and comfortable living, while the exquisite details prevent one from forgetting they reside in an urban setting.
Considering the limited household occupants, the designer opted for an open layout, eradicating the sense of boundaries within the space, forsaking complex forms and displays in favor of transparency to enhance human interaction, providing areas for lingering, observing, and conversing.
Using the entryway and staircase as horizontal and vertical spatial axes, the opposite side of these axes houses the western dining area and living room. As the walls open up, the space further integrates with the outdoors, strengthening the bond between people and environment. Minimalism dispenses with intricate materials and colors, focusing the space on the expression of light, nature, and scale, exploring the most authentic needs individuals have for space.
