This project centers on the architectural planning of a residential building in the vibrant Zhubei City, located in Hsinchu County, Taiwan. Known for its dynamic monsoon climate, Zhubei is also recognized as a "leader of technology cities," largely due to its strategic proximity to a cutting-edge science park and a wide range of residential amenities. As a growing hub for innovation, Zhubei effectively combines advanced industries with smart living solutions, all within an environment that prioritizes quality of life.
The architectural design of the building elegantly revolves around its central axis, artfully incorporating the three vital elements of life: sunlight, air, and water. To begin with the element of sunlight, the design team has utilized energy-efficient laminated glass for the expansive curtain wall that envelops the facade. This innovative choice allows for unobstructed views while flooding the interior with natural light. The interplay of daylight creates a dynamic atmosphere, casting rich patterns of light and shadow that enhance the overall ambiance, making the spaces both vibrant and inviting.
Transitioning to air, a striking architectural feature is the inclusion of a partially inclined, 15-degree split-level structure. This unique element, paired with square trim panels, evokes the sensation of a wind tunnel, capturing the gentle breezes of the city and ushering fresh air into the heart of the building. This thoughtful design not only enhances ventilation but also creates a lively interaction between the indoor and outdoor environments. Water is thoughtfully integrated into the landscape surrounding the building. Lush greenery flourishes across the property, while the specially designed green balconies serve a dual purpose: they efficiently retain rainwater and lower ambient temperatures, all while improving air quality. The presence of these elements brings a refreshing vitality to the spaces, inviting nature into the architectural experience.
