Hotel Indigo Hainan Clear Water Bay is situated in Lingshui, Hainan. Originally an unfinished structure dormant for nearly a decade, it spans 83,000 square meters. The project introduces a dual-brand concept, Kimpton and Hotel Indigo, collaboratively crafting a diverse coastal holiday experience. The design team delved deeply into the history of Hainan's Danjia fishing communities and the Li ethnic culture. Drawing inspiration from the concept of an "Ocean Jewelry Store," they undertook a holistic design approach encompassing architecture, interiors, FF&E, and art curation, creating a resort destination that is both authentically local and stylish.
The original banquet hall entrance was reimagined as the drop-off area for Hotel Indigo. Three layers of curved arches progress inward, complemented by reef-inspired artworks to create a warm ambiance. The chic and dynamic lobby features clusters of pearl-inspired lights arranged in circular and sinuous S-curve formations, evoking the shimmering moonlight on the ocean’s surface. Design elements such as the rustic marble reception desk, reclaimed boat-wood grilles, and curved linen-upholstered sofas pay homage to the maritime heritage of the Danjia people. Two L-shaped water features frame the space, the sound of flowing water enhancing a sense of serene tranquility.
Adjacent to the neighborhood restaurant, a 380-square-meter infinity water feature was introduced, extending the scenic view to 65 meters. The interplay between water reflections and sky light creates a luminous dialogue. Warm tones of dusty pink and creamy beige define the space's fashionable charm, while lush tropical greenery woven throughout infuses the area with vibrant vitality. Specially crafted guestroom corridors feature modern, open door frames connected at layered, angled intervals, creating an infinite spatial sensation reminiscent of a mirrored runway, which offers guests an unexpected surprise.
