The project concept focused on preserving the uniqueness of the urban environment, its human scale, and the harmonious interplay between old and new.
The site contains a two-story brick house—a representative example of typical background development within the historic center—which is currently in a dilapidated condition. A new architectural volume is constructed on a larger scale, enveloping the existing "old" structure to maintain the continuity and spirit of the place.
The corner section of the new volume is deliberately cut away to reveal the corner of the original brick building. While this design choice results in a slight reduction of floor area, it significantly enhances the aesthetic value. The resulting void is filled with transparent and tinted gray glass. Through the facade grid, brick fragments of the historic structure remain visible, creating a visual dialogue between old and new. The facade is decorated with bricks left over from the demolition of the old building.
