This project embraces an aging-in-place concept, thoughtfully tailored for a retired senior citizen. Given the occupant’s routine rehabilitation sessions, the overall planning prioritizes accessibility and comfort, ensuring a safe and accommodating home environment that supports aging with dignity.
An open-plan layout improves circulation and mobility, reducing barriers and enabling ease of movement throughout the space. In terms of style, a Scandinavian-inspired modern American aesthetic is applied, combining clean lines, light-filled openness, and natural textures to create a soothing, emotionally supportive atmosphere.
Clean lines define a serene spatial clarity, and arc details on the ceiling compose an elegant atmosphere, where warmth and simplicity coexist. A large floor-to-ceiling window brings in abundant daylight and frames the urban vista, allowing the resident to feel connected to the outside world while basking in warmth and the sunlight.
The interior adopts a neutral color palette. Durable SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) flooring offers a natural wood look with enhanced abrasion resistance and ease of maintenance. A custom dining area anchors the heart of the open-plan layout, complemented by built-in storage and soft ambient lighting, and harmonizing modern aesthetics with functionality.
