Experiencing a garden, not just a restaurant.
Place Making
To meet the demands of a vibrant campus, we propose transforming an underused covered area into the lively U Garden, a 900 sqm food and beverage outlet. This space will offer a diverse range of multicultural cuisine to the PolyU community throughout the day.
Experience
U Garden is envisioned as a hub for connection within the PolyU community. As a new campus landmark, its design seamlessly integrates indoor and outdoor spaces with a series of arch windows and abundant greenery. The flexible layout encourages various activities—dining, socializing, or unwinding—enhancing functionality and atmosphere.
Streetscape
More than just a dining venue, U Garden enriches the campus streetscape and fosters interaction and community engagement. The landscaped outdoor terrace, featuring custom furniture and vibrant plants, creates a lush, calming environment where the PolyU community can study, socialize, or relax.
Iconic Features
Incorporating iconic red-brick elements and arches that soften its lines, U Garden features expansive windows that flood the interior with natural light and offer stunning garden views. The serene interior, designed with a neutral color palette and lush soft landscaping, fosters the connection to nature. Additionally, U Garden serves as a testing ground for PolyU's research initiatives. Featuring energy-efficient air conditioning developed by PolyU professors, it champions sustainability on campus. Customized ceiling fan lights enhance air circulation and highlight the unique waffle ceiling design.
U Garden goes beyond the traditional dining experience; it is a sanctuary for connection and a refreshing retreat, enhancing campus life and establishing itself as a new landmark for the PolyU community.
