In an old apartment in Keelung, a family of five embarks on a new chapter of life. To meet the nuanced and diverse needs of both parents and three children, the designers anchored the concept in a modern American style, weaving together soft arcs and milky brown hues to link the open social area with the gentle tones of the private area. Bathed in slow, golden daylight, the space unfolds as a serene overture where light and daily life interlace. The process required careful calibration—balancing budget, function, and emotional resonance—so the home could genuinely reflect the layered expectations of every family member.
Upon entry, one is greeted by an expansive living-dining area and a large wall of bronze mirrors. This feature not only deepens the visual field but also doubles as a stage where the twin daughters practice dance. The interwoven contrast of mirrors and wood veneers adds warmth and dimensionality, while an arched walkway transitions gracefully between the social and private areas. Arc-shaped elements ripple softly through mirrored reflections, quietly guiding the rhythm of daily life.
The TV wall integrates a curved design that conceals curtain tracks, transforming mechanical clutter into coherence. Soft ambient lighting flows like mist, and the gauzy, breathable curtains ensure both privacy and ventilation. In the master bedroom, wardrobes and bathroom access are unified through hidden doors, maintaining spatial clarity and calm. Each detail is considered to achieve a refined balance between beauty and practicality—echoing a deep understanding of the family's routines and relationships.
