Twilight Elegance is the renovation of a 30-year-old, 148.76 square meters residence in Xinzhuang for a family of four. The designer extended the memory of the client’s previous home by transforming its dramatic Baroque character into a vocabulary of understated luxury, blending dark-toned central islands, stone-clad feature walls, and grille doors to create a core that unites function and visual order.
The kitchen island anchors circulation, connecting four concealed doors and establishing a fluid, transparent plan. Children can bike and play freely indoors, highlighting both flexibility and family interaction. Materials include large porcelain slabs, wood veneer, and artistic coatings, paired with spotlighting and angled ceilings to let light and atmosphere shift with time. With three-sided natural light, effective ventilation, and F1-certified eco-friendly cabinetry, the design embodies a sustainable, human-centered living philosophy. Beyond function, it carries the rhythms of life and the evolving warmth of a family’s story.
