This project intricately weaves together the geometric aesthetics of Piet Mondrian, a pioneering Dutch painter and a central figure in the De Stijl movement, celebrated for his distinctive compositions of vertical and horizontal lines interspersed with balanced rectangular grids. By incorporating Mondrian’s artistic language, the design effectively marries modern principles of wabi-sabi and minimalism, creating a captivating contemporary residential environment.
To reinterpret Mondrian’s iconic linear grid structure, titanium-plated metal trims are thoughtfully employed, adding a sleek and modern touch. Furthermore, handcrafted, naturally textured artistic coatings introduce warmth and tactile depth, transforming the walls into an engaging geometric canvas that invites exploration. In addition, carefully designed curved architectural detailing softens the structural transitions between beams and columns, thereby reducing visual rigidity and fostering a sense of spatial fluidity throughout the space.
Moreover, natural materials such as wood and marble are harmoniously paired with low-saturation ambient lighting, resulting in a tranquil and refined atmosphere. This careful selection not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also creates a serene backdrop for daily living. Additionally, circulation paths are intentionally simplified, prioritizing everyday experiences and ensuring that the beauty of formal composition seamlessly coexists with functional practicality, culminating in a harmonious balance that elevates the overall living experience.
